The duality mala came about amidst a journey for peace.
As we continually transition from one phase of our lives to the next, we're ever evolving from our surface to our soul.
The duality mala aims to capture that feeling and remind us that we can safely hold both sides of our being through it all.
Polished black onyx, the face we turn toward the world. The best versions of who we are in this precise space and time.
Matte black onyx, what we hold close to us. Where we do the work. Not always shiny, but always beautiful, and always us, at our core.
Together we sit, breathe, love, feel, and connect with the world around us, despite the oft crooked path.
Bathing in the magnificence of our own duality.
Mala beads serve as a talisman. A gentle reminder to breathe. A tool to help bring you back down to earth and out of bouts of stress, panic, or anxiety.
Meditation can serve as your most powerful tool for healing. A mala serves as a silent guide. Whether letting it run through your fingers with every breath while it remains in your pocket, placing it around your wrist in meditation, or counting beads with inhales and exhales as you drive, American Yogi's Spiritual Armor Beads will be there to ground you.
In the same way that American Yogi strives for inclusivity in the yoga space, we wanted to create a tool for breathing that could be carried across all walks of life--whether you spend your days on the beach, the base, or the farm.
The idea for our mala came in conjunction with the creation of The American Yogi Brothers in Arms Fund--a fund created to honor the memory of a close friend that passed in 2015. After he died, a handful of us from the platoon replicated his "Brothers in Arms" tattoo we saw on his forearm moments after he died. He inspired us to follow our dreams. With the fund, we aim to help another veteran fund their dream and pursue their goals--anywhere in the world. $15 from every mala sold will go directly into the fund. Every set of Spiritual Armor is handmade in the US by Chris Eder of Mala for Vets, a veteran owned/operated business based in Florida.
